Twelve separate, customizable functions that you can use to randomize, modify, shift, and otherwise alter various properties of Illustrator objects. Use these functions together to create complex, cohesive designs quickly. Each function has various modes with a flexible array of settings, so you can get exactly the result you’re looking for.
1. Duplication
Duplicate based on count, and copy objects in-place a specified number of times.
Copy objects into a grid of specified width and height. Optionally determine grid flow and margin size.
2. Fill Color
Randomize fill colors from a Hue, Saturation, Lightness range, or from a color set that you populate with as many colors as you like.
Shift color values of selected objects as Randomill iterates through the selection.
Loop through a set of colors over and over to create checkerboard-like patterns.
Blend between multiple colors to produce
3. Stroke Color
Stroke colors can be randomized the same way as fill color, and independently controlled.
4. Scale
Randomize the scale of selected objects by setting a minimum and maximum value.
Shift object scale by gradually increasing or decreasing amounts as Randomill iterates over your selected objects.
Target scale by scaling objects by values that gradually approach your target value.
Oscillate object scale between two set values over a specified number of steps.
5. Rotation
Randomize the rotation of selected objects by setting a minimum and maximum value.
Shift object rotation angles by gradually increasing or decreasing amounts as Randomill iterates over your selected objects.
Target rotation by rotation objects by values that gradually approach your target value.
Oscillate object rotation between two set values over a specified number of steps.
6. Position
Randomize the position of selected objects by setting a minimum and maximum offset value.
Shift the positions of objects by gradually increasing or decreasing amounts as Randomill iterates over your selected objects.
Target object position by changing object offset values such that they gradually approach your target value.
Oscillate object position between two set values over a specified number of steps.
7. Opacity
Randomize the opacity of selected objects by setting a minimum and maximum value.
Shift the opacity values of objects by gradually increasing or decreasing amounts as Randomill iterates over your selected objects.
Target object opacity by changing opacity values such that they gradually approach your target value.
Oscillate object opacity between two set values over a specified number of steps.
8. Stroke Width
Randomize stroke width of selected objects by setting a minimum and maximum value.
Shift stroke width by gradually increasing amounts as Randomill iterates over your selected objects.
Target stroke width by setting object stroke widths to gradually approach your set target value.
Oscillate stroke width between two set values over a specified number of steps.
9. Blend Mode
Randomly change the blend mode of each object in a selection by checking which blend modes can be applied.
10. Order
Randomize the layer order of selected objects.
Reverse the layer order of selected objects.
Arrange the layer order of selected objects based on their positions in the document.
11. Selection
Randomize selections in Adobe Illustrator by specifying a percentage or exact number of objects to select from within the current selection.
Stack Select a percentage or specific number of objects from the top, middle, or bottom of the currently selected layer stack.
12. Font
Randomize fonts in Adobe Illustrator by choosing which fonts to use, or using all installed fonts.
